Hair we are

Daniella is a South London based Writer/Director whose real writing journey began by writing comedy sketches for Youth Project Phenomenon ‘98 featuring Gina Yashere and Richard Blackwood. She then graduated from Ravensbourne College in 2004 where she wrote, produced and directed her first short Connexions which was Nominated for Best Screenplay at the BFM Short Film Awards in 2006 and won “Best Open Deck film” when screened at the Cutting East Festival. She was also recently short listed to complete last year’s Blank Slate scheme supported by B3 media.

Other projects include directing, Lost Wallet, producing 1minute short Seeing is Believing, acting as camera assistant/runner in B3 Award winning short Laters and producing 24 7 11 Hold Up a satirical politically incorrect, futuristic Richard and Judy style show which was used as promo for ITC.

Daniella won the 2007 Film Fund Award from Lewisham Film Initiative to complete her short Hair We Are for the Black History Month Short Film Challenge. Hair We Are won the 3rd Best Film at the Images of Black Women Film Festival and has been screened at Chicago International Children’s film festival and will screen at BAMKids Film Festival in New York.

Daniella currently works with young people and has helped run film and TV workshops with young people ‘at risk.’
