Julia graduated from the Bristol Old Vic in 1984 and has been working in theatre, film and television ever since. She has worked with directors such as Shane Meadows and Mike Hodges and alongside talents such as Alan Rickman and Zoe Wanamaker. In 2006, she set up Honor Oak Films Ltd in honour of the area of Lewisham in which she lives, and directed her first short, THE ENLIGHTENMENT, shot on super 16mm. She is currently co-writing her first feature with Simon Stephens and work-shopping the feature SUMMER/LIFE'S A DREAM, directed by Kenny Glenaan for Ken Loach's Sixteen Films.
