Stephen Fingleton

Stephen Fingleton

Stephen Fingleton was born in Derry, Northern Ireland.

He studied English Literature at University College London, making his first films with UCL Union Film Society (whose alumni include Christopher Nolan). During this time he was also an award-winning student journalist.

His spec feature script BATTERSEA RIPPER was produced with a high profile British cast including Danny Dyer, Dexter Fletcher, Denise Van Outen and Stephen Graham. His most recent spec script EAST 11 was optioned by a leading independent film company.

As director, his previous work includes the short SHE LOOKS LIKE A GIRL IN TROUBL E (2005) and MAN FROM DISNEYLAND (2006), which won the UK Youth Action 'Film For Youth' award.

In 2007, he became was the last recipient of the Bill Miskelly Award, a prestigous grant for young filmmakers run by Northern Ireland Screen.

He has worked for the BBC, Tiger Aspect and various indies in development and production roles.
