Voting has commenced on the Best of Boroughs Awards for short films made by the borough funds in 2010-11. Lewisham's entry, JASMINE, is a bittersweet story of two sisters written and directed by Sonia Castang. It was funded as part of Southern Exposure, the fund for filmmakers from Lewisham, Lambeth and Southwark.

MyStreet is a nationwide filmmaking competition in partnership with our friends Open Cinema, open to anyone in the UK to make a 90 second to 9 minute film about their street. £6000 cash prizes available as well as public screenings at Open City London Documentary Festival. June 16 marks the (private) premiere screenings of Southern Exposure Film Fund at BFI Southbank. For cast and crew only, this is an opportunity to see their films on the big screen in one of the most prestigious film venues in the country.

But for those of you not involved in their production, don't worry! There'll be opportunities to watch them later on in the year...they're sure to have a fantastic festival life.

Southern Exposure's five lucky filmmaking teams are starting the new year with a lot to do! From scouting for lifts, car parks and abattoirs, to raising additional capital and making fish pies..production will take place from March to May this year.
