Hello and welcome to the website of the Lewisham Film Initiative (LFI).
The LFI helps local filmmakers fulfil their potential through production funding, networking events, location management services and screening opportunities. Sign up to our occasional and very interesting newsletter here.
The LFI leads on the flagship Southern Exposure Film Fund co-funded by Film London. The fund, now closed, operates on an annual basis, selecting projects from talented filmmakers in Lewisham, Lambeth and Southwark. Three films will be delivered in 2011/12 as part of this award-winning scheme.
We are also expanding our audience development remit by enabling more local residents than ever to watch films at venues across the borough. Check out the film clubs at the Brockley Jack, Forest Hill's The Hob and Deptford Film Club amongst others.
And for children and young people interested in watching and making movies, Southern Exposure (PG) and the Film Marathon are exciting new opportunities to learn the tricks of the trade during the Cultural Olympiad and run-up to the Olympic Games in 2012.
The LFI was established as a co-venture between Creative Process and Lewisham Council's Arts Service in 2003. For a brief history on the LFI, please go to Background.
